Sunday almost seemed like a dream. Too good to be true. Absolutely beautiful looking across at the Hoxa channel at Flotta where the Fleet golf course used to be. Yesterday was driving rain. Good Orkney weather.
John, 52 of 72 interned ships were scuttled. This included 16 capital ships, 4 light cruisers and 32 destroyers. Still in the flow are three battleships – König, Markgraf and Kronprinz plus Dresden, Köln, Brummer and Karlsruhe. Most of the battleships lie between 38-45 metres down so quite difficult to dive on. Köln is fairly accessible. Sorry, the calculation of what this represents is a bit beyond me at this point.
