Eventual Fate
Torpedoed and sunk May 32st 1916
Jutland result
At 21:15 Frauenlob encountered British 3rd Light Cruiser Squadron and briefly engaged (weather was poor and so only Stettin and Munchen fired for any time). Later the Seydlitz and Moltke passed too close forcing the entire Scouting group to veer off. This reactionthen brought them into contact with the British 2nd Light Cruiser Squadron (Godenough) and they engaged at 2,800 yards. Torpedoed by HMS Southampton at 22:35. 6" fire then set her aft deck afire. Accounts of the death and wounded vary. In one, she went down with 12 officers and 308 men. There were 9 survivors.
